ABSTRACT: The pandemic has accelerated the adoption of online and distance education. An important challenge is ensuring that these new learning environments are inclusive and accessible to students from diverse cultures and backgrounds, as well as guaranteeing that all students, regardless of their cultural origin or geographic location, have access to appropriate technology and connectivity, which is fundamental for equitable intercultural education in the digital age. The curriculum must be sensitive to cultural diversity, recognizing and celebrating the contributions of different cultural groups, which requires a critical review of teaching materials and the promotion of intercultural education. Educators should receive training in cultural competence and pedagogical methods that foster inclusion and respect for diversity. Preparing teachers is essential for effective intercultural education. Schools should play an active role in building inclusive communities that value and respect cultural diversity. This involves collaboration with families and local communities. Students from minority groups or in vulnerable situations may face additional challenges in pandemic-era education. A special focus is needed to provide additional support to these students. Intercultural education should not only be a component of the educational system but also a social value. Promoting diversity and cultural inclusion should be a priority in society at large. It is important to measure the impact of intercultural initiatives and monitor results to ensure that inclusion and diversity objectives are met.
