Evaluación del contenido de la base de datos Producción Bibliográfica de la Educación Costarricense del INIE por parte de los usuarios como una aproximación a las necesidades de información para obtener su máximo aprovechamiento.

Abstract

El objetivo de la actividad de investigación fue valorar el contenido la base de datos Producción Bibliográfica de la Educación Costarricense del Instituto de Investigación en Educación (INIE) por parte de los usuarios como un recurso referencial de la producción nacional en la temática educativa. La población que se tomó en cuenta fue una muestra representativa de los estudiantes de la Facultad de Educación de la Universidad de Costa Rica, matriculados durante el II semestre del 2017, así como docentes de la misma facultad nombrados durante el mismo periodo. La muestra estuvo conformada por 304 estudiantes y 46 docentes. La metodología consistió en visitar grupos de estudiantes, donde se dio a conocer la base de datos, se solicitó que la utilizaran durante un mes, para que pudieran tener criterio de evaluar el contenido y el sitio web, mediante un cuestionario. Entre las conclusiones se hallan las siguientes: La base de datos Producción Bibliográfica de la Educación Costarricense del Instituto de Investigación en Educación, es conocida principalmente por la publicidad que se hace desde el INIE y por recomendación de los docentes a sus estudiantes. Un poco más de la mitad de la muestra encuestada, dijo haber utilizado la base de datos Producción Bibliográfica de la Educación Costarricense del Instituto de Investigación en Educación, señalando que la información contenida le falta mejorar aspectos como que esté actualizada, completa, clara, fácil uso y disponible. Sin embargo, para la mayoría un 82%, dijo que es muy importante que existan este tipo de opciones; que una sola base de datos bibliográfica referencial, localice material del tema de educación producido por varias instituciones a nivel nacional.

ABSTRACT: The objective of the research activity is to assess the content of the Bibliographic Production database of the Costa Rican Education of the Research Institute in Education (INIE) by users as a reference resource for national production in the educational field. The population taken into account was a representative sample of the students of the University of Costa Rica Education Faculty , enrolled during the 2017 II semester , as well as the teachers of the same faculty during the same period. The sample consisted on 304 students and 46 teachers. The methodology consisted on visiting groups of students, where the database was introduced, it was requested to the students to use it for a month , in order to develop their criteria to evaluate the content and the website, through a questionnaire. Among their conclusions are the following: The Bibliographic Production Database of the Costa Rican Institute of the Research in Education, is known mainly for the advertising that is made in the INIE and for the recommendation of teachers to their students. A little more than half of the sample surveyed, said having used the Bibliographic Production database of the Costa Rican Education Institute of Research, noting that the information contained needs to improve aspects such as being updated, completed ++, clear, easy use and available. However, according to for the majority of 82% it is very important the availavility of such options ; that a single reference bibliographic database, locate material on the topic of education produced by several institutions nationwide.
