Resumen
Se plantearon para el proceso investigativo los siguientes objetivos, que fueron marcando el accionar y el trabajo del equipo investigador: como objetivo general, se procuró analizar el contexto histórico de la formación docente en I y II Ciclo de la Enseñanza General Básica, así como los programas actuales que brindan algunas universidades públicas y privadas para esta carrera profesional. Esto se desagregó en otros objetivos específicos;
ABSTRACT. The following objectives were proposed for the research process, which marked the actions and work of the research team: as a general objective, an attempt to analyze the historical context of teacher training in I and II Basic General Education Cycle was made , as well as the Current programs offered by some public and private universities for their professional careers. This was disaggregated in other specific objectives; to know the reference that allows the historical contextualization of teacher training in I and II Cycles in the country; to know the components of teacher training programs in I and II Cycle offered by public and private universities; determine the main sources of recruitment of teachers for public primary education; and to define the characteristics of teachers training for primary education in general. Unlike other forms of higher education, in Costa Rican universities have a strict design to train professionals. This work compares ten different curricula of private and public universities which offer the primary education career, it allows to understand a determining component in the training of professionals in education. This, gaps and preferences are discussed in the curricula of universities to design an specific profile of student and teacher. Finally, there is debate about the type of universities available in a context on which education tends progressively to the commodification and inflation of academic careers.
