La situación y la perspectiva de la investigación educativa en docencia universitaria, en la Universidad de Costa Rica a partir del Cuarto Congreso Universitario.

Abstract

La investigación realizada, concluyó que en la Universidad de Costa Rica, en las facultades e investigaciones educativas que tienen por objeto la docencia superior, no existe un enfoque epistemológico individual que sea dominante; no obstante, si hay una tendencia hacia el punto de partida psicopedagógico, al menos determinante para los proyectos desarrollados por institutos de investigación y unidades académicas. Algo que resulta preocupante para los investigadores de este trabajo, es el hecho de que en los proyectos de investigación educativa, no se consideren los factores estructurales que descontextualizan el fenómeno. Así, los proyectos que implican una posición cualitativa, apenas alcanzan un 26% del total de investigaciones anuales. Por otro lado, se vio cómo la mayoría de proyectos, solo repiten información, sin hacer ningún aporte novedoso ni agregar elementos cognoscitivos a la realidad de estudio. En cuanto a los investigadores, se evidencia que ente las autoridades docentes que dirigen las unidades académicas, existe poca experiencia en investigación educativa, y no existe un nivel de relación significativa entre los años de servicio y la experiencia en investigación. Aunque el 98% de las autoridades docentes considera necesaria la investigación educativa para mejorar la docencia universitaria, no existen mecanismos de apoyo o estímulo, desde estas instancias, para el desarrollo de proyectos de este tipo.

ABSTRACT: The investigation carried out concluded that at the University of Costa Rica, in the educational faculties and investigations that are aimed at higher education, there is no dominant individual epistemological approach; however, if there is a trend towards the psycho-pedagogical starting point, at least decisive for projects developed by research institutes and academic units. Something that is worrisome for the researchers of this work is the fact that in educational research projects, the structural factors that decontextualize the phenomenon are not considered. Thus, projects that involve a qualitative position, barely reach 26% of total annual research. On the other hand, it was seen how the majority of projects only repeat information, without making any new contribution or adding cognitive elements to the reality of the study. As for the researchers, it is evident that between the teaching authorities that run the academic units, there is little experience in educational research, and there is no significant level of relationship between years of service and research experience. Although 98% of the teaching authorities consider educational research necessary to improve university teaching, there are no support or encouragement mechanisms, from these instances, for the development of projects of this type.
