Contribuciones infográficas para la investigación del Observatorio de la Educación Nacional y Regional.

Abstract

El objetivo general de este proyecto consistió en Elaborar alternativas visuales de información relacionadas con datos educativos en Centroamérica y República Dominicana, según los ámbitos de discusión planteados en los dilemas del Observatorio (OBSED). Para llevarlo a cabo se realizó una revisión de los proyectos de investigación vigentes durante los años 2010 al 2016, con el fin de revisar sus resultados y seleccionar aquellos a los cuales se les podría elaborar una infografía que recupere y sintetice la mayor cantidad de información de cada proyecto. Por otra parte se realizó una búsqueda de aquellos sitios web donde existen infografías relacionadas con temáticas educativas del pais, de la región y del mundo, con el fin de alimentar el sitio del OBSED. El procedimiento seguido para recolectar y analizar los datos fue el siguiente: - Revisión documental de los informes desde el 2010 al 2016. - Consulta a la encargada de la URI para precisar si los datos recolectados de informes estaba correcta. - Lectura de cada uno de los informes, haciendo énfasis en los resultados, conclusiones y recomendaciones. -Fichas de resumen de los proyectos con los resultados y los datos generales de la investigación. - Revisión de sitios web para clasificar infografías relacionadas con temáticas educativas. -Verificación de ligas y descarga de las mismas. - Revisión de alternativas de software gratuitos para la elaboración de algunas infografías. A continuación algunas de las conclusiones del estudio: La lectura de los informes permite de alguna manera contar con un panorama de que se ha investigado en los últimos años en el INIE y quiénes han estado a cargo de ese proceso. Se contó con un aporte significativo que ayudó a acelerar el proceso de búsqueda de información y fue el Repositorio http://repositorio.inie.ucr.ac.cr/ esa herramienta fue valiosa en dos sentidos, se ha logrado probar en sus diversas formas, por lo que de cierta manera, ayuda a validar o ver si tiene errores para mejora. Además, porque agiliza mucho la búsqueda de la información y aporta datos relevantes de las investigaciones, asi como el texto completo, facilitando la lectura de informes desde otros sitios. Para elaborar algunas de las infografías se tuvo que probar algunas herramientas gratuitas y de fácil acceso. Esto ayudó a generar en la investigadora autoaprendizaje y nuevos conocimientos con las herramientas, partiendo de una lógica común de las herramientas informáticas para usuarios finales, que es el uso de menu, iconos e instrucciones sencillas de comprender y utilizar. El trabajo de aprender haciendo no es tan sencillo, esto porque hay que comprender la lógica del software que se va a utilizar, una vez aprendido y probado, se hace el trabajo un poco menos costoso. La investigación aporta para seguir elaborando del resto de las investigaciones aportes infográficos de manera constante y permanente.

ABSTRACT: The general objective of this project consisted of creating visual alternatives of information related to educational data in Central America and the Dominican Republic based on the areas of discussion proposed by the OBSED. In order to accomplish this, a revision of the current research projects between 2010 and 2016 was carried out with the purpose of revising and selecting those results from which an infographic that captures and summarizes the greatest amount of information from each project. On the other hand, a web search of sites related to educational themed infographics of the country, the region and the world was conducted to feed the OBSED site. The procedure followed to collect and analyze the data was as follows: - Documentation revision of the reports from 2010 to 2016. - Consult with the URI manager to determine if the data collected from the reports was correct. - Reading of each one of the reports emphasizing on the results, conclusions and recommendations. - Summary cards of the project’s results and the general research data. - Review of websites to classify infographics related to educational topics. - Verification of web links and its downloadables. - Revision of free software alternatives to create some infographics. Some of the conclusions from the study are: ➢ The reading of the reports provides some insight into the research done at the Research Institute in Education (INIE for its acronym in Spanish) in recent years and who has been in charge of this process. ➢ There was a significant contribution from the repository http://repositorio.inie.ucr.ac.cr/ which helped to accelerate the research process and was a valuable tool in both ways; it has been tested in its various forms, so in a way, it has validated or confirmed the project’s errors for improvement. In addition, it speeds up the information search and provides relevant research data, as well as the full text, facilitating the reading of reports from remote locations. In order to create some of the infographics several free easy access tools were used. This helped the researcher develop self-learning skills and acquire knowledge along side the tools, based on the common logic of end-user IT tools, that is the use of the menu, icons and simple to understand and use instructions. ➢ The task of hands on learning is not so simple because there must be an understanding of the logic behind the utilized software; once it has been learned and tested, the less difficult task takes place. ➢ The research provides for the on going research of the continual and permanent contributions of infographics.
