dc.description.abstractEste proyecto se concibe como una iniciativa de investigación y desarrollo para la creación de un entorno digital, por medio de la Internet y de discos compactos (CDROM) dirigido a los estudiantes y docentes de inglés de las instituciones primarias. Su objetivo general es diseñar material didáctico e incorporarlo en un portal (CyberLab Kids: laboratorio de idioma inglés y discos compactos) basado en los planes y programas de estudio de inglés del Ministerio de Educación Pública con el cual los estudiantes y profesores de inglés de los diferentes niveles y modalidades del sistema educativo público mejoren sus destrezas lingüísticas y conocimientos culturales de los países de habla inglesa. El proyecto se desarrolló en tres fases: 1) Fase de diseño y producción, 2) Fase de ejecución de la propuesta y 3) Fase de evaluación de los procesos, capacitación y publicación. La ejecución del programa se realiza por medio de un servidor para la administración y distribución de los recursos de aprendizaje en línea localizado en la Facultad de Letras de la Universidad de Costa Rica y en el Ministerio de Educación Pública. El Instituto de Investigación en Educación (INIE) de la Universidad de Costa Rica y el Departamento de Lenguas Extranjeras del MEP son por su parte los responsables de aportar el apoyo tecnológico, el tiempo académico, la producción y revisión de los contenidos, la conducción del proyecto, y su promoción. Como parte de este programa se impartieron charlas y seminarios a maestros y maestras de inglés en sus propios lugares de trabajo y en la Universidad de Costa Rica. Además, por medio de talleres en línea y presenciales, se otorgaron a los docentes capacitación en el área lingüística y pedagógica. En resumen, con la realización de este programa, el MEP, en conjunto con el INIE, logró los siguientes productos: Portal (website) para el desarrollo de áreas temáticas y de estrategias de aprendizaje de la lengua inglesa. http://cyberlab.ucr.ac.cr Guía didáctica con los lineamientos para el uso efectivo del portal basada en los planes y programas de estudio del MEP. Material “hipermedial” (audio y videos interactivos) para apoyar el aprendizaje del inglés en forma individualizada. Discos compactos (CDROM) con los contenidos del portal correspondiente a cada uno de los niveles de enseñanza del inglés en I y II ciclos de la educación general básica. Portal (website) para el docente de inglés que propicie el mejoramiento en el dominio lingüístico de este idioma. La creación, diseño, producción e implementación de la plataforma digital Cyberlab se ha realizado gracias a la sinergia de trabajo de un equipo de expertos tanto académicos como técnicos. La efectividad de esta plataforma solo puede ser valorada por sus usuarios y por los resultados que se logren en el idioma inglés.es_ES
dc.description.abstractABSTRACT: This project began as a research and development initiative for the creation of a digital environment by means of the internet and compact discs (CDROM) addressed to English students and teachers from primary institutions. Its overall objective was to design teaching material and upload it to a portal (CyberLab Kids: English laboratory and compact discs) based on the curriculum and English programs of the Ministry of Public Education with which English students and teachers of different levels and types of public educational system would improve their linguistic skills and cultural knowledge of English speaking countries. The project was developed in three phases: 1) Design and production phase, 2) Execution of proposal phase, 3) Evaluation of the processes, training and publication phase. The execution of the program is carried out by means of a sever for the management and distribution of the online learning resources located in the Languages Faculty of the University of Costa Rica and the Ministry of Public Education (MEP for it acronym in Spanish). The Research Institute in Education (INIE) of the University of Costa Rica and Foreign Languages Department of the MEP are, for their part, responsible for providing the technological support, the designated work time, the content production and revision, the implementation of the project, and its promotion. As part of this program, talks and seminars were given to English teacher at their place of work and at the University of Costa Rica. In addition, through online and on-site workshops, teachers were provided with training in the area of linguistics and pedagogy. In short, with the completion of this program, the MEP, together with the INIE, accomplished the following results: • Portal (website) for the development of thematic areas and learning strategies of English. http://cyberlab.ucr.ac.cr • Teaching guide with guidelines for the effective use of the portal based on the curriculum and English programs of the MEP. • "Hypermedia" materials (audios and interactive videos) as support to the individual learning of English. • Compact discs (CDROM) with the content of the portal of each one of the levels of English teaching in I and II cycle of general basic education. • Portal (website) for English teachers that promotes the improvement of language proficiency in said language. The creation, design, production and implementation of the digital platform, Cyberlab, has been done thanks to the synergy through the teamwork of academic and technical experts. The effectiveness of this platform can only be valued by its users and by the achieved results in English.en
